BENEFITS
OF RADIANT FLOOR HEATING
What
is radiant floor heating?
- Pipes are
laid out within a concrete slab during construction, or
on top of an existing slab.
- Areas to
be heated are divided into separate heating circuits and controlled
by thermostats.
- Heated water
is circulated through the pipe network to heat the desired floor area.
Ideally
suited to solar energy utilisation.
- Floor heating
runs at lower temperatures than radiators say.
- Lower temperatures
make for more efficient collection of solar energy.
- No heat
exchanger is required between solar panels and heating circuit.
Ideal
heat distribution.
- The room
is heated from the floor up rather than from the ceiling down.
- This type
of heating is more comfortable. No more cold feet in winter.
- More energy
efficient since the ceiling is not heated.
Silent
and Hidden
- Water is
circulated silently through pipes in the entire floor
- No unsightly
radiators or floor duct outlets are needed
- No space
needs to be left for ducting vents
- No noisy
ventilation fans
Healthy
- Floor heating
does not dry the air out the way ducted heating does
- No draught
is generated by convection
radiators or duct outlets
- Your feet stay warm
- No electro magnetic radiation
as with electric underfloor heating
